Optical Express announced they are to be headline sponsor for The Tartan Clef Awards in Glasgow, Scotland – the leading Scottish music charity event of the year.
Chairman and CEO of Optical Express, David Moulsdale said, “The Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy Tartan Clef Awards are recognised as the leading Scottish music charity event of the year and I am delighted to show our support with Optical Express as headline sponsor of this year’s event.”
“Optical Express has supported the Nordoff-Robbins charity and the work they do for over 10 years, since we first opened the St. Joseph’s Day-Care Centre in 1995. Today, sponsoring the Tartan Clef Award shows our continued support for the charity and their clinical music therapy work helping children and adults with special needs. The awards are also a great way of recognising some great talent within the Scottish music industry. They help expose our local musicians and industry members to a larger group of music industry professionals, whilst promoting Scotland as the vibrant, friendly country that it is.andrdquo;
“On behalf of all the staff at Optical Express, I am proud to support this year’s Nordoff-Robbins Tartan Clef Award, and know that the judges will face a difficult task in choosing the winners given the quality and quantity of entries that have been nominated this year. I would like to wish all the nominees the best of luck.”
The prestigious annual ceremony last year saw celebrities such as Tommy Cunningham of Wet Wet Wet and former First Minister Jack McConnell enjoying performances from artists Sandi Thom and Paolo Nutini. Previous years have seen performances from artists and award recipients such as Annie Lennox, Travis, The Darkness, Lulu, Darius, and Sharleen Spiteri from Texas.
This year will honour some of Scotland’s brightest and hottest talent, and will feature exclusive live performances from some of Scotland’s top music stars whilst raising money for the Nordoff-Robbins charity through raffles and auctions.
