Optical Express expansion continues in the South of England

The coastal town of Eastbourne is the latest to welcome a new Optical Express eye clinic to the area.

Boasting a population of nearly 100,000, the world leading provider of laser eye surgery saw a gap in the market and decided to open a laser clinic on Gildredge Road in what’s known as the town’s professional area.  The new clinic offers the latest in state-of-the-art diagnostic technology and offers free consultations to patients interested in learning more about this life changing treatment.  Their clinical team is on hand to examine patients prescriptions, analyze their lifestyle needs and advise on exactly what type of treatment will provide them with their best possible visual outcome.

For those Eastbourne patients not yet ready to make the move towards a life without their glasses, the new Optical Express eye clinic will also offer a full range of glasses including top designer brands such as Guess, Head, Police and Ray Ban, plus a full contact lens service from advice and fitting through to clinical aftercare.

The new clinic is easily accessed by train and bus plus free parking is available.  The eye care chain is currently running a promotion that offers a free second pair of glasses to a patient’s friends and family, so it’s a great idea to bring someone along with you if you’re thinking of visiting the new clinic.

The new Eastbourne clinic is the 24th new clinic opening in 2013. The clinic openings are in response to the increasing demand for laser eye surgery in the UK and Ireland.  Optometrist Fiona O’Dell said:

The business recognised a need for a laser eye surgery provider in Eastbourne and responded to that.  We’ve had encouraging feedback so far from the local community and the clinic has been busy since it opened in late February.  We’ve been providing eye care in the UK to millions of patients for over 20 years. We are hoping to build on the early success we’ve had in Eastbourne and establish a reputation as the first choice provider for eye care in the area.

March will see the eye care provider continue their plan to increase their clinic portfolio in England and they have also confirmed they are to open new clinics in the Republic of Ireland later this year.

David Moulsdale, Optical Express Chairman and CEO is delighted to see Optical Express continue to buck the current high street trends:

We knew at the start of the year we were setting ourselves some tough targets with the number of clinics we hoped to open in 2013. I’m happy to report that we are ahead of where we hoped to be in terms of number of new clinics opened so far.  I am hoping to maintain the momentum in the coming months, open even more new clinics and build on our existing patient base.”
