Optical Express announces senior appointments

Optical Express has announced the appointment of two non-executive directors with former First Minister of Scotland, Lord McConnell of Glenscorrodale and Frank Blin, executive chairman of accountants PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Scotland joining the Board.

David Moulsdale, chairman of DCM Optical Holdings noted;

“I’m delighted to bring both Lord McConnell of Glenscorrodale and Frank Blin into the business as non-executive directors; their complimentary skill sets will assist us in driving forward ambitious strategic growth plans both domestically and internationally.

“Jack I know will support us well in opening up new markets, in our philanthropic endeavours and of course in our interface with Government on health matters. Frank’s insight and knowledge of acquisition and growth as a leading member of the PWC team will sit well with our ambitious plans for continuing to aggressively build our businesses.

“Despite tough market conditions we are trading well enough to have the confidence in recruiting a further one hundred personnel for our customer service department and to open up to 24 new consultation locations throughout the UK. As the global leader in laser eye surgery we need to continue to invest not just in our people, but also our technology so that we continue to deliver the best care in the business for our patients.”
